Rice U. Brings Good Memories

Hey guys, it's me again. Well, only about a week and a half left before I leave. Feeling pretty anxious about leaving, I guess seeing all the Big League guys out there already has gotten me even more excited about starting the season. It made me even more anxious a few weeks ago when I went to the opening of the new Rice University Baseball Stadium and first game of the season. In case you don't remember, I played at Rice in college. It brought back a lot of memories and I got the chance to see a lot of my old teammates. We had a really close team when I played there so it felt great to be reunited with a lot of old friends. A lot of the old guys were drafted into professional ball like I was so there aren't a lot of times when we are in the same place. The new stadium is called Reckling Stadium and it's a good-looking college field. It didn't quite look like the field that I used to play on.
I'm glad that the new team will get to play on a field like this. I guess you might be wondering what it feels like to be where I am right now, if I am nervous or worried about where I'll go or how I'll perform. You know I guess you kinda feel all of those things and more as you get ready to leave. Being away from my family and friends for nine months or even little things like a home cooked meal are hard to let go if for that long. In the end though, the bottom line is that I trust that whatever happens is for the best and I look forward to working my hardest out there.
Next time you all hear from me, it'll be from Vero Beach and I'm sure that there will be a lot to write about. Until then stay well,
Bubba
