You're my Roomie too?

Well I've finally made it here to spring training. The Dodgers spring training camp is located in Vero Beach Florida, which is about an hour and a half southeast of Orlando. I arrived here on Friday the 8th of March, unlike all the pitchers and catchers who had to be here on the 2nd. Minor league position players are usually the last ones to report.
The first thing I did when I got to camp was find out which room I was staying in. After leaving the front desk I headed to my new home for the next three and a half weeks. Now, one of the positive things to being one of the first position players to get to arrive is getting to pick the bed that looks the best. Well, as I opened the door I realized that someone was already in the room and thought, there goes the first choice to the beds. When I walked in I noticed some things on the first bed so as I told my roommate hello, I started to head for the second bed. Once I put my suitcases on the second bed I noticed a pair of glasses on the table next to it. Confused I turned around to ask my roommate which bed he was sleeping in and he said he had the first one and another guy had the other one. After thinking they made some mistake I noticed a small cot like bed in the corner of the room and realized this was going to be my bed for the next few weeks. Last year I ended up with no roommate during spring training so I guess I was getting one for this year and last year. All in all though, I can't complain. Some guys are sleeping in rooms with a lot more than three people and my roommates are pretty cool.
After unpacking I had to report to the training room to go through a series of examinations. This process took about three hours. After my series of examinations I went back to my room to shower up for dinner and call my mom and my girl friend to let them know I got in safe.
Full practice is going to start tomorrow, Friday the 10th instead of today, Thursday the 9th because there are still a lot of guys who haven't gotten their examinations yet. This way by Friday everyone will be done and ready to start. So, even though I am not sleeping in my ideal bed, I can't wait to start tomorrow. I guess even though at the end of the season it feels like you need the off season so badly, once you're not playing for a few months it feels like forever. Well, next time you hear from me I look forward to telling you about some games.
